Editorial Guidelines

Last updated Jul 25, 2026

These are the standards CoinCrafty holds itself to. They exist because crypto is a your-money-your-life subject, and readers deserve to know exactly how our content is made and where our limits are.

Education is not advice

We teach and we walk you through things; we never tell you what to buy. Nothing on CoinCrafty — news, guides, tool outputs or reviews — is financial, investment or tax advice, and no outcome is guaranteed. Any content that touches price or markets carries a clear “not financial advice” note. Reader safety comes first, especially around wallets and self-custody.

Real or clearly-collective bylines

We publish under the accountable CoinCrafty editorial desk byline, or under a real, consenting, individually-named writer — never under an invented persona, fabricated credentials or a bare “admin” account. We do not invent staff, biographies or headshots.

Human-written, AI disclosed honestly

Editorial prose is written by people. We may use AI for routine production support — research leads, formatting, first-pass checks — but not to write the articles, and a human editor is accountable for every story. We say so plainly rather than claim a “100% human” purity we do not have.

Reviews are honest by construction

Gear reviews use a published, weighted scoring method with visible reasons and mandatory cons. Reviews are labelled research-based by default and hands-on tested only where a genuine test happened; we never fabricate a “we bought and used it” claim. We never publish a fabricated aggregate rating, and affiliate relationships never change a score.

Sourcing and corrections

We source claims and cite the primary documentation — manufacturer and protocol docs — wherever it matters, and where a claim cannot be supported we leave it out rather than dress it up. When we get something wrong we correct it openly and log it on our public corrections page.

Money and disclosure

We make money through advertising and clearly-disclosed affiliate links, disclosed inline and at our affiliate disclosure page. Affiliate links are kept off pure safety and security content, and we never take payment for favourable coverage.

What we will never do

CoinCrafty will never: publish under invented personas or an “admin” byline; present education or how-tos as financial advice or guaranteed outcomes; fabricate a “we tested this gear” claim or a fake aggregate rating; ask for your seed phrase, private keys or a wallet connection; publish AI-generated article prose; take payment for a favourable review; hide affiliate relationships; or publish thin, off-brand SEO filler.
