Acerca de TRON
TRON is a general-purpose blockchain that found its niche in one very practical job: moving dollar-pegged stablecoins cheaply. Whatever else runs on it, most of what people actually do with TRON is send tokenised dollars between wallets, exchanges and payment desks, particularly in places where banking rails are slow, costly or simply unavailable.
The chain uses a delegated form of proof of stake. Holders lock TRX to vote for a fixed slate of block producers, called super representatives, who take turns writing blocks. Staking also earns network resources — bandwidth and energy — so a regular user can cover routine transfers by locking tokens rather than burning them on every transaction. TRON runs Ethereum-style smart contracts, so much developer tooling ports across with little effort.
TRX therefore has three jobs: unlocking or paying for transaction resources, voting for block producers, and acting as the reserve asset of an ecosystem built largely around stablecoin transfers, exchange settlement and high-volume consumer dapps. Anyone receiving stablecoins on TRON needs a little TRX on hand, which regularly catches out newcomers who arrive holding tokens they cannot move.
The critiques deserve a hearing. The producer set is small and elections are shaped by a handful of very large stakeholders, so the network is meaningfully more centralised than the marketing implies, and its direction has long been steered by the foundation around it. Fewer block producers means fewer parties would need to agree in order to censor or reorder transactions. And a chain whose main use is stablecoin settlement inherits the risks of those stablecoins, including an issuer’s ability to freeze balances at specific addresses.

TRON Preguntas frecuentes
Why do so many people move stablecoins on TRON?
Cost and habit. Transfers on TRON are cheap and confirm quickly, and exchanges and payment desks in many regions default to it, so liquidity pooled there. For someone sending tokenised dollars across borders, the deciding factor is usually which network their counterparty and their exchange both support, and TRON is very widely supported for that purpose.
What are bandwidth and energy on TRON?
They are the chain’s two resource meters. Bandwidth covers the size of a transaction; energy covers the computation a smart contract uses. Every account gets a small free bandwidth allowance that refills, and you can obtain more of either by locking TRX. If you have neither resource, the network simply burns TRX to cover the transaction instead.
Do I need TRX to send USDT on TRON?
Yes. The stablecoin is a token on the network, not the network's own asset, so moving it still consumes TRON resources paid for with TRX. Arriving at a fresh TRON address holding only stablecoins and no TRX is one of the most common beginner traps: the balance is visible but stuck until a small amount of TRX is sent in.
What is a super representative?
TRON's block producers. Token holders lock TRX and vote, and the candidates with the most votes take turns producing blocks and sharing rewards with those who backed them. It is a delegated system, so ordinary holders influence who validates rather than validating themselves. The slate is fixed in size, which is a large part of why critics call the chain centralised.
Is TRON decentralised?
Less than many alternatives, and it is fair to say so. A small elected producer set, voting weight held by a few very large stakeholders, and a foundation with strong influence over development all concentrate power. That trade buys cheap, fast transactions. Whether it is acceptable depends on what you use the chain for — brief transfers carry different exposure to long-term storage.
Can funds on TRON be frozen?
The chain itself does not freeze user balances, but stablecoin issuers can and do blacklist addresses holding their tokens, on TRON as on other networks. That is a property of the token, not the blockchain. It is worth understanding before treating any tokenised dollar as equivalent to cash, and it is one reason to spread settlement risk rather than concentrating everything in one issuer.
