Dr. Shreya Dutta, MD, MPH, FACR is the Director of the Cancer Center at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas where she has been since June 2014.
Dr. Dutta is a radiology oncologist and is currently on the faculty of the MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Cancer Center of Excellence. She also heads the Cancer Center’s Cancer Care Management Program.
Dr. Shreya Dutta is part of a large group of radiology oncologists who are focused on improving the effectiveness of radiology in the treatment of cancer. They’ve done this by conducting studies on the best ways to treat patients with cancer and using these results to develop new treatments and diagnostic techniques.
This is a perfect example of why radiology is so important. Radiology is a discipline that is growing at a rapid pace and is considered the second most powerful diagnostic test in medicine. At least that’s what radiology pioneer Dr. James Pronovost says.
Dr. James Pronovost is the founder and CEO of the Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center and is also an oncologist. He was so impressed with radiology that he became the first oncologist in the US to earn a salary for oncology. He explains in his book The Cure for Cancer: The Scientific Basis for a New Era (2012) that radiology is the “foundation of a new era in the treatment of cancer.
It was the first step in a long process to get radiology oncology to earn a salary. It began in 2010 when Dr. Pronovost wrote his book The Cure for Cancer, which he later wrote as a series of essays, detailing the scientific foundations of radiology. It was all about the discovery of x-rays and the theory that they had the power to create life. The Cure for Cancer was published in 2012.
It has been a long journey to earn a salary for radiology oncology. In 2011, the Association of American Medical Colleges, the organization that represents the entire radiology oncology field, asked Dr. Pronovost to create an award to recognize outstanding radiology oncology physicians. It was awarded to Dr. Pronovost for his book “The Cure for Cancer.” In 2013, Dr.
Oncology and Radiology became one with the creation of the Radiology Oncology Association. This organization, which is an association of radiology oncology physicians, has its own website and awards are given to those physicians who are recognized for their work. Dr. Pronovost is a member of this new organization and will be awarded an award for his work.
It’s a pretty nice award because it recognizes a physician for his or her contributions to radiology oncology. It also recognizes a physician for the work he or she does in their area of specialty. It is a good thing to have a system in place for physicians to recognize the work of their colleagues and peers.
I think that the radiology oncology salary is a good idea though it is rather vague.
