I use screen protectors to protect my desk and other small screens from scratches on laptops and tablets with the same reason I use screen protectors on my computer desktop. I find the extra protection of screen protectors to be one of the most effective ways to protect my screen.
It turns out screen protectors are not as effective as the screen itself. They are just as prone to scratches and bumps on the surface, but without them, you can’t see that you have them on. It’s pretty much all about the screen protectors.
There are a few reasons screen protectors work so well, but they don’t have to do with how well they protect your screen. The screen protector is the outer coating of a TV or monitor. Screen protectors do a great job of protecting these devices by holding the outer surface of the screen against the wall. This keeps the screen from being scratched by the wall. If your screen protector is not strong enough, however, the screen can still scratch the wall.
Screen protectors are made of a laminated plastic. They are thin and light, so they don’t take up a lot of space. However, the protective laminate has a thin layer of plastic in the middle so that it doesn’t scratch the screen. Screen protectors should be thick enough to take up enough space to protect them from dust, fingerprints, and scratches.
Some screen protectors are made from hard plastics like Lexan. This is fine because hard plastics can be easily scratched, but some don’t have the same strength as laminated plastic. Hard plastics are also not as cheap to buy as laminated plastic.
Screen protectors can only protect the screen, not the entire device, so you can always use a smaller screen protector on the entire device without losing any protection. But if you need to remove the screen protector, you can easily do so with a small utility knife and just cut it away from the screen.
Screen protectors are definitely a necessity if you want to use your Galaxy Note as a digital camera, but you can also use the phone as a computer if you don’t mind the thin plastic. It is very easy to remove the screen protector from the phone with a utility knife, but it is not easy to open the phone completely.
I would be interested to hear if anyone has actually found a way to open the phone completely with a utility knife.
