As the new trailer for Deathloop suggests, Colt’s quest for the island’s Visionaries is going to lead him to Blackreef, a place where his own memory is erased. The island’s inhabitants have locked themselves in a cycle repeating day after day under the threat of a mysterious “ghost” being released from the island every few months. This is where the black titanium bracelet comes into play. The bracelet is the symbol of the strength of the human mind, not just the metal itself.

This is a very subtle hint to the story, as the bracelet will only work on Colt Vahn, someone who has been locked in a repeating cycle of day after day as a Visionary until he goes insane. He will not wear the bracelet, and therefore will not take on the role of the leader that the islanders try to create.

If you don’t want people to know you’re a part of Deathloop, you can make your bracelet disappear. Just pick up the bracelet and hold it for a few seconds until it changes into a piece of scrap metal and looks like an empty shell.
The trailer doesn’t make it clear whether the bracelet actually works or just looks cool, but I’ve heard the bracelet can turn invisible. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
