We recently interviewed Bassett’s Director of Practice, Dr. Michael Herkimer, who spoke candidly about the practice and the culture that drives it. He said that he and the other board members are not interested in making a practice or an office that is “like a typical hospital.” He said that the culture of the office is driven by the clients and the need for them, rather than a business that was built around a specific “gut feel.
Shekimer says that the office is driven by the need for the clients to feel comfortable speaking to someone who will understand their situation. He said that the office is not built around a traditional model of care, and that it’s not even a traditional office. He said that the office was built on a desire to provide a compassionate and caring office that would provide quality care, while also providing a great service to the clients.
I’m not going to lie, I’m a little unsure about this. I’ve seen some of the results of Bassett’s campaign and it seems to me that she doesn’t really want to be perceived as “a business person.” She wants to be understood as a person with a passion for her work, and I’m not sure that as a business woman she’s necessarily right to push that kind of agenda.
I hope that this is not the case. Ive never met a businesswoman who wasnt willing to put herself out there, and Ive found that the more business is involved, the more she is willing to go the extra mile.
Bassetts goal is to be the best medical facility in the world. She believes that this is the way to reach that goal. So she’s going to take the most rigorous approach to finding the best doctors, but at the same time, Im sure she has a healthy dose of her own business sense.
Well, if I had to put it in a negative, it would be that Bassetts plan only works if you’re willing to put yourself out there. It’s a lot to ask of a business owner. I think they’re hoping that by providing a great product (and great customer service) they can get you to work for them.
I think its a good way to get you excited about your own business, but you do have to put yourself out there. Its like the difference between being a manager and a salesperson. If you have a reputation for doing something good for your company then you probably will. If you dont, then maybe you need to get to know your customers and see what theyre thinking about what youre doing for them.
I feel like you can be a great salesperson and give amazing customer service but if you dont know your customers then theyre probably going to be a little bit uncomfortable with you. This is the key to Bassett Healthcare herkimer. I am a long time customer and I love my product. But there are a few problems with how they treat my business.
So why is this so important to you? It is because your target customer base for your product is going to be your target customer base for your company. If you treat people like theyre cattle, then you are setting yourself up for failure. This is why Bassett Healthcare herkimer has made great strides to offer a customer service experience they claim to be proud of.
