I’ve been a pediatric surgeon since 2008, and I love this job. I have a great family and a great team that I couldn’t ask for more. I work on kids’ surgeries in the Emergency Department and outpatient setting, but I also enjoy working in pediatric surgery itself. Because I work with kids, I love to give them the care they need, and I feel very honored to be a part of their lives every day.
As an adult doctor, I find it hard to find time to enjoy my kids. They are a big part of my life, and I have no time to spend with them. I also spend too much time at work, and I need a break to unwind. And then of course, there’s the fact that I have to spend a significant amount of time on paperwork, which means I have to be exhausted.
Pediatrics is an incredibly demanding career, one that requires a lot of time, patience, and dedication. It is highly competitive in America, but it is also very rewarding and fulfilling. Many people will tell you not to be afraid of doing difficult procedures, because it is actually a very rewarding career, and you can learn a lot of valuable skills that will translate into a rewarding life. It’s just that the pay is rather high, which is why I am happy to leave the profession.
The average salary for a pediatric surgeon is $100,000 a year. The first being the most common, which is surgeons who specialize in children’s surgery. The first level is quite rare but we are seeing a huge shortage of pediatric surgeons at the second level.
The first level of pediatric surgeons are surgeons who specialize in childrens surgery. They can do a lot of things for children, but their specialty is often orthopedics, and that is where the shortage of surgeons is. The second level of pediatric surgeons specializes in general surgery. They are able to perform a wide variety of surgeries for adults as well, but they are generally limited to plastic surgery.
