I have had airpods for about a year now and I’m not sure I’m ready to give up my old one. They are awesome. But after a few months of wearing them and not using them, I’m ready to get a new one. To help me decide, I got a few days worth of samples, including one pair of AirPods and one pair of EarPods.
The new EarPods have a new strap, that does not include a lanyard. The old ones had a lanyard that you had to put on, that attached to the ear piece. With these new earpods, you just put the strap on, and the earpods themselves stay attached.
Because the new earpods have a new strap, it makes it harder to remove them, and harder to put on and take off. To get around this, you have to get a new lanyard or other method of attachment to your old lanyard.
This sucks because it’s really easy to lose the lanyard on the new EarPods, so you can’t wear them with you. Another problem is that you lose the extra charging ability of the new EarPods. So you have to charge them with your phone or other external charger, which is really annoying. It also means that the new EarPods will be super expensive.
This is the same problem as any lanyard, except for the extra charging ability.
Oh, well. I hope they fix this soon. Airpods are one of my favorite gadgets.
Airpods aren’t the only new tech that comes out this week; there’s new smart bands, headphones, and an even cooler Bluetooth speaker in the works. They’re all meant to help you keep your device charged, but they could all be used to make your life easier in other ways too.
I just don’t get it, why would you want to charge your headphones or your earbuds? My friend, who has a pair of Airpods, charges them using his phone and a wireless charger. He gets a notification on his phone, just like a normal smart band, and pulls the plug on his phone so he can charge his Airpods.

I personally like the blue one, but there are also orange and pink ones.
