Of course, the tech industry has always had its fair share of workaholics. But no matter how hard you work, you can never expect to retire with a nest egg as big as that.
You are right. If you do it right, you will find yourself not only making more money, but living the life you love. Because what you make as an engineer, as the owner of a company, as an entrepreneur, is worth less than what you will make working for yourself.
But if you do a good job for yourself, you probably won’t have to work for someone else. You just have to make an effort to make it easier on yourself. You can’t expect to work all day, every day, to make more money than you might need. That’s why you should just make your own way. It’s not your job to make more money off of someone else’s work.
There is a lot of “make your own way” advice out there that makes sense in theory, but in practice is often just another way to justify giving up. Sometimes, people will do what they think will make them happy. I don’t mean to sound like a broken record, but some people actually really do make more money off of something they do for themselves.
As I said above, the number of people who make more money from their own work is astronomical. We all know people who make more money than they need to, but it’s not fair to say they don’t make enough to enjoy their work. It’s not a bad thing to make a little extra money. The problem with this is that you are making a choice. You choose to make that extra money by working for yourself or by working for someone else.
It’s interesting how we all know that our goal is to make enough money for ourselves. Our goal is to make $250+ per week. You should make $150+ per week. So we should take a huge gamble and make $250+ per week and make $150+ per week. Make a small fortune, but make a big one.
The fact is that I don’t think that 127 gbp is a bad thing. To me it is a good thing that it is at such a low salary. You are making a choice to make this job so you can make a little extra money.
