This chapter discusses the various levels of self-awareness you get from a daily routine.

To get self-awareness, it’s important to have a routine. Many people are unaware that they lack self-awareness because they have a routine that doesn’t give them time to think, or because they’re too busy paying attention to what’s going on around them. A good routine will allow you to sit back and reflect on your life and yourself.

The fact is that each of us has a routine that includes our brain in it. If we’re not doing this, then everyone else is doing it. So when we’re stuck with routine, we don’t have a routine. In fact, for a time our brain will be so busy that we’re afraid that it may take us too long to process our routine.

The great thing about routine is that it allows you to make choices that are not in direct contradiction to the way your brain is wired. The first step to routine is to identify what your brain does and can’t do. If you’re a good dad, you probably cant eat your breakfast. If you’re a good mother, you probably cant be a good mom. If you’re a good wife, you probably cant be a good wife.

This is the part of your brain that decides if you can do something today, whether you can have a child tomorrow, and so on. If your brain is in the habit of being in a state of “no choice” (whatever that means) then you will struggle to make your life more complex and challenging every day.

In this case, the part that decides if you can make a car move forward, if you can be a good driver, a good listener, a good team player, and a good friend.

A study of people who had ADHD found that about 80% of them had a disorder where the part of the brain that controls choice was either weak or non-existent. A similar study found that about 80% of all people had an addiction problem. So the fact that you can’t control your brain and make choices in your life is a pretty big deal.

A few days ago I had a conversation with a friend who did an extensive interview on the subject of the influence of language on the mind. He had a particularly bad experience with the word “language” in the English language. He was talking about the influence of “language” on the mind and the brain, and he was using it to help himself to other people’s problems. He was trying to give the illusion that he was really the person who spoke English.
