The cost of an ebook is less than the cost of a book. If you want to get the ebook cheap, just get the ebook cheap. It’s a good deal. Also the ebook is in the UK and so is the book. So you get the ebook for the price of the book. Just like with a movie.
It is also worth mentioning that you can get a UK Kindle or Nook reader for a very good price. These devices do not have the ability to download ebooks.
The main reason I use the ebook in the first place is because I like to read something on its own, whereas the main purpose of a book is to build a solid foundation for your story. For instance, what will a book look like if you do a character-building exercise? I don’t think so, though you would be surprised that you get to read something on your own.
