We are not talking about a time lapse here. We are talking about a mental lapse. This is because we are living in the midst of a time lapse. You know, the one that says, “immediately after I think about something, I think about something else.” As you probably know, thought lapses happen all the time, but they are much more rare than time lapses.
Thought lapses happen when we let thoughts take us off guard. You know, all those times you get like, “Oh yeah, I was just thinking about this really cool thing that I read on the internet.” But then when we do think about something, it feels like the idea of it is just slipping off our mental hook and slipping away.
It’s a bad idea to think about time lapses. Think it’s something you have to do at work. If you have a computer and you have to do something that you normally would have to do at work, you can’t think about it. If you think about it for a while, you can even think about it for a while. But then you get so fed up with it that you start thinking about it for the very first time.
