I am a huge fan of buying things at local markets, not online. There is something about the interaction and the local feel that makes a store feel like a special place.
The reason why I like this so much is because it’s not a store for you to shop at. They are your local marketplace where you can buy a ton of things, some you probably already have, and others you will have to hunt down. If I were trying to buy some new gadgets, for example, I would have to put my money in a local marketplace.
There is a lot of talk these days about buying things online, but I don’t think we’d ever go down that road if it weren’t for the fact that we don’t have to worry about buying things online. Not only from a privacy standpoint, but from a logistical standpoint too. Local markets are probably the best way to get your hands on cheap electronics and kitchen gadgets as well as cheap clothes. The only caveat is that you have to go to a local market to buy them.
Of course, buying things online is still a great idea. But buying things offline is the only way to get a good deal. I have two friends who go to a local market to buy clothes, but every time they go there they get a very good deal for the clothes they get there. So for me personally it’s usually a good thing that they go to a local market.
Well, if you are going to go to a local market, you really have to get one that sells a lot of things and has a good selection. If you are getting a good deal on the clothing you go to the market or the appliance store, you don’t have to go out and find it. It’s also best to go to a market with lots of sellers or at least a large selection in one place.
Speaking of local markets, I must warn you that many of the ones you see in Paris are not very good at the best. Some are good, but some are not. A lot of them have no selection in the best areas because the French go to the best areas. A good market can be found at the center of the city in the area called la Villette. Many of the best markets in Paris are in the area around the market square called Les Halles.
One word of advice: Don’t go to a market where you have to sit near the vendors and pick up bags of groceries. This is not a good way to shop.
