A great way to compare prices is to check out a third-party site for the item. You should always read the terms, and make sure that the site you’re comparing to isn’t using affiliate links or a similar scheme. Otherwise, just go to the site the seller uses and see what the prices are.
I’m not saying not to check out sites like Shopzilla when you’re looking for the best price on an item. I’m saying that in order to compare prices for items, you need to be familiar with the seller’s pricing scheme. When you are comparing items, you want to make sure you are comparing apples to apples.
That’s a good point. I had a friend who would be shocked to see his car sitting on the lot for a month at a time. If he knew that it would cost him 38 euros to have it sitting there, he would have the financial wherewithal to put it in the garage for a month and then buy the car for $50 instead.
I think part of it is that we can’t really compare what someone is offering with what someone is selling. If someone is selling a car for 38 euros and I am selling a car for 30 it’s not going to be an apples to apples comparison. It might be good to take a hard look at the price of the item compared to what a person is offering, but this is not the same as comparing apples to apples.
If the price of an item is higher, you’ll do better to buy it. I think the only way to get to the point where you can compare is to buy it on eBay. It’s a good idea to buy it on eBay because you don’t have to pay it back. It’s also a good idea to buy it on a website like eBay because it’s easier to use.
