Our new family healthcare system is so much better than the current one. The difference is that we have a team of highly skilled, dedicated professionals who are on call to answer any questions of healthcare needs. We also have a system that is set up to pay for services and not to cover everyone, so if you don’t have insurance, you can still have your basic healthcare. This should be a model for other communities and healthcare systems across the country.
This is a good thing, I think! The last time I checked out my insurance, it didn’t cover many of the services I needed. I was looking into this before our new insurance came in (and I had insurance through our employer, so I was already covered in a different way) and I came across this website. Their idea is to create a way to pay for healthcare services in your community without you having to pay anything at all.
The healthcare community has been trying to figure this out for years, and there are a few issues with it. First, it creates a huge administrative headache. This paperwork and claims thing sounds like an easy thing, and it is, but when you add a doctor to the mix, it gets even more complex.

We are assuming that the doctors that will take care of you will have already taken a look at your medical history. If you had a problem with your dentist before you had a problem with your eye doctor, that would be a red flag.
It’s kind of like a bad movie, in that you assume the bad guy is the one in the lead role, and then you have to figure out what’s going on with the other characters. There are lots of reasons why a doctor could go on vacation during the course of a given week and be completely free of work for the rest of it, and it’s even possible that a doctor could be working on your case while you’re out of town.
This is actually a very real issue. In a survey by the American Dental Association, only about 40% of dentists reported that they worked all or most of the time, and the rest reported they worked on average one or two days per week. These kinds of vacations are extremely common and they’re often not covered by insurance.
If youre in the hospital, or already under the care of a doctor, chances are that youre probably not completely free of work. In fact, the chances that youll even have a normal work week are remote. The reason for this is that most doctors don’t work more than one day a week. They only work during the day and only if they feel like it.

A lot of people who had relationships with doctors, professors, and scientists had a hard time adjusting to the idea that a doctor was someone who worked full time and had a life.
