I have a friend who is still in elementary school. They are very excited that their classroom is finally done. At the end of the day, they feel like they have accomplished something, but for other students it is a reminder not to put a goal on the table and not to take steps towards it. The kids and teachers alike are very excited that it is finally over and that we are not in another war, but all too familiar ones.

I think that’s what we want to remember when we are young. The idea that it is never over, that life goes on and that some day we each will be together. That is something that people struggle as adults with, that we may not always live up to but that we know in our hearts and minds that someday soon we will all be together.
