The idea of storing data on an external hard drive is great, but it’s not a permanent solution. You can only use your external hard drive for a specific length of time. The USB hard drives we bought (one with a 2.5GB capacity) are a single use only. Any data stored on them are only accessible for 10 minutes. It’s not a permanent solution, but you can keep your data on it for as long as you want.

We don’t think it’s a big deal, but when we want to use the USB port again, we have to remove it. The adapter is designed for power only, so we had to disconnect it each time to use it again.
And this is where I have to give credit where it’s due, the adapter is a lot smaller than the USB cable. So we’ve been able to keep that data for as long as we want. It’s not like we’re throwing away the USB cable we’ve been using for months.
My personal favourite is the fact that the adapter has a small USB cable that you just plug into your computer and go. Its a great way to bring all of your files with you when you are on the go. It allows you to work more efficiently and gives you a good, safe solution to the data transfer issue.
The adapter does have one limitation. You cant transfer files over USB 2.0, so it won’t work with USB 3.0 drives, but that’s pretty much all you need. It may seem like a small limitation, but it is a small one. You can easily transfer files over USB 1.1 and 1.2. It is a very small device, but you are still able to transfer files all by yourself and use it in conjunction with an external drive or external USB port.
